It's my VIRTUAL BIRTHDAY PARTY and you're invited.

I’m currently on DAY 5 of Social Distancing in the wake of COVID-19. It’s going pretty well, but I do miss a sense of regular human contact. I’ve been doing more Facetime-y type catch-ups and I joined a Zoom video chat with some friends last night and it’s a new kind of fun. It’s not the same as in-person, but given the limited options for seeing people, I’ll take smiling faces through a computer/phone screen from weird angles, mediocre sound and the occasional frozen screen. It’s a blessing.

Next Thursday, March 26th is my BIRTHDAY. My husband asked me what I want to do and I was like, “Are you kidding, we’re looking at it…” as I pointed to him and our dog. I was originally scheduled to volunteer with Art Buddies, making a costume at Whittier Elementary school with my 5th-grade buddy - however, that was canceled this week due to attempts to prevent Coronavirus spread. By now, I’ve gotten excited about the idea of a low to no pressure celebration consisting of 2 humans and a dog. In the last few years, I haven’t had parties on my birthday, I’ve been connecting with my community. Last year I taught a Mindset and Meditation workshop at LAB Minneapolis. Two years ago I was volunteering at Avenues for Homeless Youth and I got to have some Carvel Ice Cream Cake with a few of my favorite youth at the residence. This year is different.

I woke up this morning and I was like, “WAIT…I can have a virtual birthday party and it can be an informal gathering of people who want to connect - via video conferencing.” For my birthday, I want to bring people together and create GOOD ENERGY. The gathering can have a workshop-y vibe (like last year) - I will share 5 of my favorite tools to raise your energy, lower anxiety and feel more connected to others, even if you’re social distancing. We can do a little Q&A and other people can share their tips too (this is a community more than anything). And DEFINITELY some dancing! Beyond that, it’s just getting people together, friends and strangers or strangers that become friends, it’s a good thing. It’s totally free and you don’t have to know me to attend, just a desire to connect with people! Hopefully, we can get people from all geographic locals to celebrate my BDAY! Details below!
